What is considered online-dater clothing?

    Hello Robloxians, today I am going to write on a common question often brought up in the community.

   Has this happened to you? You are in game minding your own business, and suddenly a random player starts following you around and spamming "ODER! ODER! I SEE AN ODER". However, you have neither done nor said anything which indicates that you are an online dater. This happened to me a couple of times.

It is common to once in a while get called out for wearing and/or creating clothing which appears to show too much "skin".

Yes, wearing certain clothing does indicate some oder behavior—for example, NSFW (graphic T-shirts, incredibly graphic shading).  But what about clothing that appears to be on the iffy side or reveals skin *cough* plastic? Should you really worry?

Just take a look at my signature outfit! I cannot get over how cute it is. Wonderfully crafted neon overalls over a tank top. The tank top at the back is a little short, but looks even cuter with the long black hair draped over it. Though it is hard to see, it is also accompanied with minor shading at the collarbones. I love that extra detail, as it adds to the 3-dimensional look of it.

1. More than just being minor details, these are elements of fashion. Things like lines, shapes, color, texture, symmetry, asymmetry all make a clothing design what it is.

2.  You can dress as awesome as you want on Roblox, while staying socially acceptable.
Characters on Roblox are meant to be customized to look as colorful and fantastical as they can get. Sometimes I wish I could dress as kooky and colorful in real life.

Would I wear mildly revealing outfits in real life?  Nope!  Even though I am a huge fashionista, I tend to lean to the modest side when it comes to dressing. 

Maybe you would and thats TOTALLY okay.

 I find nothing wrong with having on a Roblox dress which is short.

3. It is about the intent. There may be some undergarment-like clothing (swimming suit),  and people will use it to get their character to look realistic as it can get. There even are people who use trendy clothing with brandnames (no skin showing) as a supplement which creates part of their impressive look---> to attract a girl/guy friend.

However, there are people who wear both those things for a completely good intention.

This colorful outfit you see here, is an example of the skater-scene fashion trend back in 2010. Her character looks completely decent. Note how a lot of designs (like this) have on leg jewelry. This is more common on Roblox than in real life! It is not everyday you would see somebody wear leg jewelry.

Not only is it just decent, but the strapless top accompanied with a short skirt was just more faster to create. That's why a lot of designs on Roblox leave out straps from the bodice. It was just quicker that way, and ended up becoming a common style on the website.

4.  The Roblox character consists of 6 parts at its basic form! We are nothing but lego-like bricks which break and fall apart.  There are many games which have characters with fully formed bodies, such as Second Life. Think about how far that can go.  

And those are the reasons! When somebody calls you an oder, the very best thing to do is to ignore them. Just know that you are free to decorate your avatar any way you want, it is only virtual after all.
